Hello again. As always, the best place for most recent True Panther news is the BLOG and TWITTER but we thought we might as well let you know about some new on this page anyhow.

The last year has been pretty remarkable for us, but no stopping now. We have a ton of releases on deck. Lookout for albums from Glasser and Magic Kids some time this year. In the meantime, Here's some info on what's coming out in the next couple of months...Also, check the RELEASES page for full info. We can currently only take mailorders through the Matador Store.

We're re-issuing the Hunx and HIs Punx "Gay Singles" album on CD/LP/DA. Pre-orders come with a brilliant Chiphunx cdr which features some album hits sung by the CHIPMUNX. * Girls made a few pretty amazing end of the year lists. Pitchfork's top 100 songs (the only band on the list w/o a real album), Gorilla Vs. Bear 1 and Most Likely to Succeed also still hometown favorites with a Band to Watch nod from the SF Weekly.
* We're all really excited for the next year, with a Hellhole Ratrace 7" coming, some sxsw shows, and of course the debut album and subsequent tour dates EVERYWHERE after that!

*Glasser is the newest addition to our proud True Panther family! Watch for her 3-song 12" in the beginning of March with artwork by Tauba Auerbach. Remixes for the record are solicited and ALMOST done, should feature some heavyhitters like Chairlift, YACHT, Lucky Dragons, Tanlines, Lemonade, Delorean, John Talaborn, Stay High, oh man oh man oh man oh man! We are siked.

* Fly Girls are 5 12-14 year old girls from Brownsville. This is their first ever record coming out on Sockets on CD and True Panther on vinyl .We're INSANELY siked for this. More news shortly but the release party will be March 11@the New Museum!

Also, singles coming in the next few months from Ty Segall, Hunx and His Punx, and Rainbow Bridge. The future's bright!

Lemonade- Blissout

Lemonade are currently touring the wilds on Canada looking for replacement windshield wipers and slaying audiences with El Guincho. They're coming back to their new hometown on Tuesday for a much-anticipated show at Le Poisson Rouge. That's not all though! Two more shows in the next two weeks. We're awfully lucky here in nyc. I don't know why this music triggers synesthesia in me. I suspect it's because these gorgeous numbers make my skin literally tingle. The tunes are so classic and pure, yet churn so massively, and the language is so full of want. It's an imperfect world, and boys and girls do each other harm. March 25, 2008 A really nice look from Gorilla Vs. Bear on our favorite Girls today! Czech IT. The post has an exlusive MP3 download of "God Damned" that was previously only available for stream on their Myspace. YES!

Also, Standing Nudes "Ghost Story" jackets and LPs are in. We're going insane over here hand-numbering and hand painting each chip-board jacket with glow in the dark "ghoooooost" paint. The vinyl looks really beautiful and spooky. No pre-order for this, just putting it out there to whoever can snatch it up first. Keep an eye on the store this week.

March 12, 2008 That's cool, I guess we are just going to do yearly updates on the news page from now on. So many news in our world, we'll try to be quick!

The most immediate news...we got Standing Nudes Lps in!! We're waiting on the jackets but I promise you this is going to be a deeply special version of your beloved Ghost Story album. The vinyl is "ghost" clear, delicately placed inside of uniquely printed and hand-numbered chip-board jackets! We only made 300 and once they're gone, they're gone. Pre-order will go up next week so keep an eye out.

Also, we'd like to announce new True Panther sounds brethren GIRLS into the fold! We first saw Christopher Owens shredding guitars and organs with Holy Shit but were blown away with the new intensely beautiful and sincere music of Girls. Listen to some of the tunes here. Look for a 7" ep some time this spring, followed by a full on album sometime in the summer. Already good news from the Girls camp! Some great press and an invitation to the Riviera's prestigious MIDI Music Festival. YES!!

The Broken Strings LP is finally at the plant, but now facing a mysterious sampling/clearance issue that's holding up production. HaTeRz try to stop us but they will not succeed!

Also, believe it or not the Lemonade/Les Aus split 12" is still on the burners. Les Aus are finally producing their mixed tracks to us during their visit to SXSW which means the record is inevitable. We have some nice artwork to tantalize your taste buds in the meantime.....


The big cd drop off is happening this Thursday March 20th at the Delancey in Manhattan NY!! We're having a huge post-SXSW party with Lemonade, Les Aus, Stay High DJ's all night, drink specials, etc

We're still tinkering with the Broken Strings LP but it's on its way. The David Copperfuck 7" is out! Our friend Donnie put it out on his Party Turtle imprint but we have a few copies....get them in the releases section. Also, the San Francisco Bay Guardian was feeling it..thanks!

October 29, 2006 It's been a while since the last update, but please don't think that we've been slacking off. There's a lot of good news to report and not a lot of bad news but maybe it's because we are all doing ecstacy all of the time to prepare ourselves mentally for the upcoming Lemonade/Les Aus split LP. Lemonade are going to be recording with Dj C.L.A.W.S. this month,and we're doubly lucky to have the magical and talented Arnau design ing cover art. We're hoping to have this done by February of next year. The Standing Nudes 7" charted #17 on WNYU last week. Not half bad for an arena that looks at vinyl like an embarassing, drunk uncle. The 7" is almost sold out so get it now before having to live with shame and regret for the rest of your life. The LP/CD is also forthcoming. Those of you that were lucky enough to snatch the Broken Strings album from the blog will be happy to hear that we're putting it out on CD/LP as soon as possible. Those of you that haven't heard it , please be aware that you're in for a really amazing, sincere and beautiful masterpiece. No Shit! For San Francisco residents, David Copperfuck are playing at Jack's on Saturday with Wildlife and New Thrill Parade, two of our favorite local bands. The 7" should come out in the next few months on Donny's as-of-yet unnamed record label. It's 4 songs recorded by Brian Hamilton (Fleshies) at Sugar Mountain, mastered by Weasel Walter and it RIPS. We also havea 7" split with DiDi Mao coming out on Coco Conk as soon as they get it together. HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

July 6, 2006 We'd like to formally apologize for the extended absense of a good update despite the overwhleming abundance of good news in the True Panther realitysphere. The Standing Nudes 7" is out and available at their shows and through mailorder on their website Peep this month's Wire for a good review. Way to go Team! The Strip Mall Seizures LP is also done. Blood red vinyl with beautiful 3-color silk-screened cover art. Shit will bust open your head and you will thank them for it! You can get it at their record release show July 16th at Apgar St. Co-op in Oakland. After that, you'll be able to either order it from us or get it from them on tour but watch out because it's super limited to 300. Check their web world for tour dates. Next up on the agenda is a split love match LP with Lemonade from here in beautiful San Francisco and Barcelona's Les Aus Both will drop intercontinental neuvo shredder dub bombs you will want to chew on and swallow and all in time for their September Euro tour with Tussle. YES! For better or worse, the blog is getting updated pretty regularly. We'd like to welcome a couple new contributors into the mix. Chris McVicker and Tony Lowe are new stylish yet orthopedically sound sneakers propping up the swollen and lethargic membrane that comprises our blogosphere presence. Thanks dudes.

April 11, 2006 The Standing Nudes 7"s are IN! 100 precious ones are bunkered down here in San Francisco, and the other 200 have been sent by carrier pigeon to New York. That means that we have a few little bugs to work out with cover art and they will be ready for everyone! You can get your own tomorrow night in New York at the Standing Nudes show at The Delancey. Also, the Strip Mall Seizures record is mastered and will be ready for you by the beginning of next month. Look out for a David Copperfuck CDR in a couple weeks. Natty Dreadlock coming to dinner!

February 20th, 2006 We're making some progress here at True Panther. Learning how to make the internet work for us, scraping together funds to put out awesome records, and bloggin' like CRAZY. The Standing Nudes 7" is already at the plant and should be ready for the March 11th release show at the Cake Shop in Manhattan. Here's a glimpse at the prospective cover art. The Strip Mall Seizures LP should be following it shortly. Also, we've got most of the archives figured out for the blog, wherein you can view old posts by clicking on the month they were written, but not on the title of the posts. Keep checking it for secret new sounds and little links and MASSIVE links.

January 16th, 2006 True Panther is hibernating in San Francisco's misty womb. Bear with us as this site hatches from its cocoon and reemerges as a semi-functional, semi-coherent portal from which one might be launched into ecstatic musical heights!
